The distinct and traditional Birch sound, enjoyed for over thirty years, has reached a new plateau. By using Bubinga wood for the inner layer of the Birch shell, Tama has created a new chapter in the Starclassic series. This mixture of Birch and Bubinga has borne a new sound with a sweeter and deeper hybrid tone, which exhibits the focused attack of Birch paired with the enhanced lows of Bubinga. Starclassic Performer B/B Series tom and snare drum shells consist of 4 plies of Birch with a 3-ply Bubinga inner layer, while bass drums have 5 birch plies. Additional features include zinc die-cast hoops, claw bass drum hooks, spur bass drum bracket, Air Pocket rubber feet, sliding tom holder, Star-Cast Mounting System, and Evans drumheads to provide durability and solid sound.
